Jack D. Reeve, 88, of Tipton, passed away Friday, June 15, 2018, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home in Tipton, with his wife by his side.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. A memorial fund has been established for the Cedar Manor Nursing Home or the South Bethel Church Fund in his memory.

Memorial services will be 11;00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. The Rev. Norman Anderson will officiate. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa.

Jack DeVere Reeve was born April 14, 1930, in Tipton, the son of Dale and Florence (Titman) Reeve. He graduated from Tipton High School in 1948, and attended one year at Iowa State University. He then enlisted in the US Army and served in Germany during the Korean War. He was a lifetime resident of Tipton. He married June Elaine Nebergall on February 28, 1954, at the South Bethel Church, Tipton. He was first employed as a farmer and then began a career as a Real Estate Salesmen and Broker for approximately 40 years and served as a Cedar County Supervisor for eight years. He was a member of the Tipton Lions Club, where he served as President, and was a member of the South Bethel Church, Tipton. He enjoyed playing bridge with the same card club for over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife, June of Tipton; three daughters, Mardi Burmeister of Davenport, Kayleen Reeve of Tipton and Janelle Reeve of Denver, CO; four grandchildren, Dustin Hinrichs, Kristin Burmeister, Jay Burmeister and Savannah Miles; two great-grandchildren, Anna Burmeister and Henry Burmeister; one sister, Beverly Fitch of Tipton; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, Lorelei Nell Hinrichs, his step-father, Clarence Waddell, four sisters, Marjorie Barnes, Dorothy Albaugh, Marilyn Ailey and Eldora Miller and four brothers, Delbert Reeve, Robert Reeve, James Reeve and Paul Reeve.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Cedar Manor Nursing Home for their wonderful care and to the Iowa City Hospice for their compassion given to Jack during his final days.
