Sharon Kay Gaus, 64, of Oak Ridge, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at her home.
She was born April 22, 1954 in Heiskell, TN the daughter of James and Wanda Hackney Garner, who are both deceased. Mrs. Gaus worked for several years as a caregiver. She was of the Baptist faith. Her family was her focus in life and she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hubert and Mary Gaus. She is survived by husband, Ronald Gaus; children, Michael Gaus and wife Robin of Oak Ridge, Jason Gaus Sr., and daughter-in-law, Beth Gaus, both of Claxton, Rebecca Gaus of Oak Ridge; grandchildren, Jason Gaus Jr., Justin Gaus, Jessica Gaus, Jordan Gaus, Jaidev Gaus and James Gaus; and great grandson, Easton. She was also looking forward to the birth of a great-granddaughter later this summer.
She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Steven Garner, Patsy Carroll, Aline Nelson, Melinda Martin and Sheila Mircale, all of Clinton; Stanley Garner of Halls, Jeff Garner of Knoxville and Judy Metcalf of Harriman and several aunts and uncles and a host of nephews and nieces. The family would like to express their appreciation to UT Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mrs. Gaus. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 6 – 8pm at Weatherford Mortuary. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
