Bruce Nye, 80, retired Salina cement finisher, died at 7 pm Friday at his home, 802 Gypsum. / He was born Sept. 24, 1881, at Ada. He farmed north of Minneapolis, then moved to Salina in 1955. He was well-known as an amateur baseball player and a student of bird life. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Minneapolis. / Survivors are the widow, Rose, of the home; a son Earl, 419 S. Connecticut; two daughters, Mrs. Clayton Tapp, Wichita, and Mrs. Robert Russell, Baldwin Park, Calif; a sister Elfie Feather, Minneapolis, 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. / The funeral will be at 2 pm Monday at the Chapel Funeral Home, the Rev. Leslie Tohuren officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. / Friends may call at the funeral home.
