Joann Kidman Wassom Caine passed away on June 19, 2018 due to breast cancer, brain metastasis.

Joann was born August 27, 1936 in Logan to Donald William and Clair Mae Pendleton Kidman. She graduated from Bear River High 1954.

She married David Arlyn Wassom on May 29, 1953 in the Logan Temple, and they raised four wonderful children together. They moved from Garland to Farmington in 1965. Arlyn and Joann divorced in 1977.

She married Richard J. Caine in 1986; solemnized in the Jordan River Temple in 1991. They moved to Elko, Nevada and owned and operated "The Paint Store" for ten years before retiring and moving to Sandy. They did a lot of traveling, but their most satisfying trip was to the British Isles and all the parish churches attended by their ancestors. Joann had a passion for family history and says "she will be visiting all those dear people until we all get there."

Joann was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She had many hobbies that kept her busy, but the most pleasure came when all her family were together and she could watch them mingle.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheryl Lynn Wassom, Kaysville; and Cynthia Wassom, Sandy; a son, Jeffrey Arlyn (Matt O'Brien) Wassom, San Diego, California; fourteen granddaughters; one grandson; and 18 1/2 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Ann (Dan) Murray, Centerville, in January 2018.

The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Aspen Ridge Home Health and Hospice for the loving care they provided.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street (100 East), Murray. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Oak Hill Ward Chapel, 955 West Murray Taylorsville Road (4800 South), Taylorsville. A viewing will be held prior to the services at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment will be at the City Cemetery in Salt Lake City.
