"ST. LOUIS- Mike Arnold, the owner of Gus Gus Fun Bus, passed away from his injuries, Susan Arnold said. Mike was seriously injured after being struck by a stolen truck during a carjacking in downtown St. Louis one day before Father's Day Saturday, June 16.

June 22, 2018 Friday morning, Arnold's family posted a Facebook post announcing his death. Their statements read: Our family is very heavy-hearted today. We have lost one of the very best people in our little world. Everyone has known of the circumstances of Mike Arnold's battle these past few days, after being struck by a truck Saturday.

He fought hard but I'm so sad to say that his body couldn't fight any longer and he lost the battle yesterday evening. Our family is heartbroken. We've lost a wonderful loving son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to so many. We've lost the most important part of what made our big giant family complete.

Mike is not only a dear friend to many in St. Louis, he is also father, step-father, and grandfather of a big, beautiful blended family affectionally referred to as The SchArnoTicks. In fact, the entire reason behind the purchase of the 15 passenger bus known as Gus Gus the Fun Bus was purchased to make it possible for the entire family to be able to enjoy getaways and vacations together.

Mike is a genuine supporter of so many St. Louis businesses, not because it's his job (because it's not), but because he cares so deeply about so many. He seems to be everywhere - every grand opening of a new restaurant or brewery, every food festival - and seems to be the first to know of news (there have literally been times I've learned about things relating to my own businesses because Mike tweeted it before even I knew). There has been more than one occasion where we popped onto Mike's Twitter feed to answer questions about local businesses, traffic, etc - if it happens in St. Louis but @gusgusfunbus doesn't tweet about it, then did it really happen?

We want to honor his memory at this time by remembering the happy times and the wonderful person that he was. Please honor the family's wishes at this time and keep the positive thoughts and vibes going.

Thanks for all your love and support, everyone."
