The deceased was born in Groesbeck, August 27, 1889, the son of E. J. and Bettie Langford Lauderdale, lone time residents of The LaSalle community east of Groesbeck. He was united in marriage with Zelda Mar Croft, August 29, 1909., in LaSalle, and is survived by her.
Other survivors include two sons, William Lee Lauderdale, Natchitoches, La, and Melvin Lauderdale of Groesbeck and one daughter, Mary Frances LeBlanc of Dayton and two grandchildren. He is also survived by two half brothers, A. T. Lauderdale of LaSalle and Clifton Lauderdale of Mexia, and two half sisters, Elna Rand of Groesbeck and Bessie McBay of Houston.
Mr. Lauderdale farmed for many years in the LaSalle community. He also was a faithful employee of the Groesbeck Independent School District for many years. A member of the Church-of Christ, services for Mr. Lauderdale were officiated by Brother Bill Hart of the Teague Church-of Christ. Soft organ music was provided by Mrs. C. L. Harrison.
Burial was in the LaSalle Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Garvin Rand, Grady Phillips, Cris Chambers, Lemiel Clark, William Lee Lauderdale, Jr. and Clifton Lauderdale.
