Maria Davis was the daughter of Josiah (Jose) Davis (1748-1824) and Lydia Hill (1753-1827), who married Sep 1771 in possibly Virginia or perhaps North Carolina.
Maria (did she go by Mary?) married the widower Phillip Martin Vogler (1779-1848), who married 05 Nov 1818 at Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina. Maria raised Phillips's five children (ages 1 to 11) by his first wife, Elizabeth Volz/Foltz (1783-1817), whom he married 05 Dec 1805 at Salem, Stokes (now Forsyth) County, North Carolina.
Maria and Phillip were the parents of five known children, namely:
1. Lydia Vogler Fuller (1819-1902)
2. Regina Amelia Vogler Fishel (1821-1888)
3. Martin Vogler (1823-1823)
4. Infant Son Vogler (1824-1824)
5. Margaret Vogler Fishel (1826-1905)
After Maria died, Phillip remarried to the widow Elizabeth Hamilton Peddycord (1786-1869) on 21 May 1833, but had no additional known children.
