Nettie was the daughter of Harrison and Martha Belle Bennett Hanley. She first married Ross D. Hill 15 Feb 1914, Coles County, Illinois.

Hubert C. Hill 1915-1962
Mary June Hill Orr McGuire 1919-2000
Esther Irene Hill Gibbs 1921-1924
Harold Eugene Hill 1926-1979

Ross and Nettie divorced sometime after 1930. After 1946, She married Wilbur Clayton.

Mrs. Nettie Clayton Dies in Charleston

Charleston, Ill.—Mrs. Nettie Clayton, 65, wife of Wilbur Clayton, died Wednesday about 4:40 p.m. in Community Hospital where she had been taken a few hours earlier in the day. She had been (illegible.)

Mrs. Clayton was the mother of (illegile.)

Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in the (illegible) Holiness Church with burial in Mound cemetery. The body was at the Harper-Swickard funeral home where friends my call after 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Clayton was born Aug. 8, 1892, a daughter of Harrison and Martha Hanley. She had resided in Charleston a number of years and was formerly employed by the Brown Shoe Co. here.

Surviving besides her her husband and son in Mattoon are another son, Harold E. Hill, Frankfort, Ind.; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Gibbs, Garden City, Mich., and Mrs. Mary June McGuire, Wayne, Michigan; the following stepchildren, Charles, Dee and Pud Clayton, Mrs. Ruth McKee and Mrs. Edna Daniels, all of Charleston; a sister who resides in Urbana; two half-sisters; three half-brothers, her step-mother, Mrs. Leona Hanley of near Charleston, 12 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.
