Thurman “Bud” White was born December 8th 1922. He grew up in Kirkland Texas just outside of Childress Texas. He was one of 14 children born to his parents William Riley and Ora Jane. At a very young age he left home to seek employment. He worked where he could until WWII broke out. He then joined the Army where he and three of his brothers also served during World War II; each in a different branch of the service. Bud was a cook in the army. He served much of his time in North Africa. He did such a fine job as a cook that the Colonel gave him his own jeep and he was able to use it until the war ended. He was very disappointed that he had to give it back after the war. He became a very successful restoration and collision repair business owner, having several shops in Arkansas, while also owning and running a fishing camp in Louisiana. Bud was such a respectful person also saying Thank You for the littlest things. Bud was married twice and he outlived both of his wives. He has one daughter. Bud passed away on June 25, 2018.
