Martha Ann Tubbs was born on September 9, 1942 to David and Emma (McAfee) Stanley in Hannibal, Missouri and passed away in Aurora, Nebraska on June 29, 2018 at the age of 75.

Martha grew up in Hannibal, Mo where she graduated from Hannibal High school in 1960. She married Nicholas T. Tubbs on September 16, 1962. After supporting her husband through Bible College, Nick and Martha entered the Ministry for the next 46+ years. During this time they welcomed their 1st child Nickie, soon followed by Penny, Dee, and David. Their ministry led them to towns such as Ankeny and Waukee, IA, Hibbing, MN, and Marysville, KN before settling in Aurora, NE in 1977.

After raising her 4 children, she fulfilled a lifetime dream of becoming a nurse. Martha went back to school and graduated from Platte Valley Community College in Columbus in 1988 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Martha enjoyed playing the keyboard and reading devotionals at their truck stop ministry, playing board games, doing ceramics, spending time with her children and grandchildren, catching up with family and old friends on social media, and peaceful nights on her deck. Her greatest joy was working in Youth ministries, Woman’s bible studies, and supporting her husband throughout their ministry.

Martha was preceded in death by her father and mother. She was a descendant of the Scottish Highlander McAfees of Hannibal, Mo. and Wayne County, Ohio through her mother, Emma.

She is survived by her husband, Nick; 4 children, Nickie (Jeff) Robinson, Penny Tubbs , Dee (Troy) Starr, David (Vonda) Tubbs , along with 13 Grandchildren and 21 Great-Grandchildren.
