Barbara J. Hooker, age 77, passed away June 25, 2018, at 2:22 pm, at her son's residence in Ft. Wayne, IN. Barbara was born August 31, 1940 in Lima, OH, to John Robert and Betty Marie (Stevick) Hooker who preceded her in death.
Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Lima Sr. High School. She had worked as a secretary with the Greater Downtown Lima Association. Then for 30 years she had worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant and retired from Heritage Home Health Care Services in 2014. Barbara loved playing Bingo, bowling, all outside sports, traveling and kittens.
Barbara is survived by her children: Boyce J. (Heather) Ballinger of Fort Wayne, IN and Gaybra (Larry) Raymond of Reynoldsburg, OH, 5 Granddaughters: Rebeka, Brodie, Bailey, Hannah and Harper, a sister, Beverly Hooker-Burde of Lima, OH, a half brother, David (Cindy) Rodney of Lima, OH, 2 half-sisters: Dale Rodney of Delphos, OH and Teena Hooker of St. Marys, OH.
She was preceded in death by a half-brother, Robert"Bobby" Rodney.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 5:00 pm at the CHILES-LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bryan Bucher. Burial of cremated remains will be done at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 3-5 pm at the EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
