He was born in Elgin, IL on August 13, 1940, son of the late Earl and Alma (Anderson) Carlson.
Chuck graduated from Elgin High School in 1958. He later received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He spent most of his career as a manufacturing engineer.
He worked for Borg Instruments Inc. in Delavan, International Harvester / Farmall Plant in Rock Island, IL, and retired from Kohler Engines in 2000.
On March 30, 1963, he married Karen Fischer at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.
Chuck was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island, IL for 20 years where he sang in church choir, served as Elder, and served as church president.
Chuck was also a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan where for many years he sang in the choir, served as an Elder, and served with the Stephen Ministry and attended his Friday morning Bible Class. He was also a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineering and the Society of Automotive Engineering.
He enjoyed golfing, playing in many golf leagues, and volunteered for several PGA Tour events. He also enjoyed playing poker and bowling in his earlier years. Chuck and Karen spent many years camping with family and friends and travel camped to many states.
Chuck and Karen loved spending time during retirement in Mesa, Arizona at the Viewpoint Golf and RV Resort. During their time there, Chuck sang with The Choraliers, a resort choir from 2006-2017.
Survivors include: His loving wife: Karen of Sheboygan; Three children: Mark (Linda) Carlson of Wauwatosa, Stephen (Carol) Carlson of Waukesha, and Jennifer Carlson (Diane Olson) of West Allis; and Eight grandchildren.
Chuck was preceded in death by: His parents; Parents-in-law: Ernst and Irene Fischer; aunts and uncles; Cousins: Tom and Don Schmitz, and Duane Alvine.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday (June 15, 2018) at Trinity Lutheran Church, 824 Wisconsin Ave, Sheboygan, WI. Rev. John Berg will officiate. Interment will be in the Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.
