Rex L. Daugherty
Rex LeRoy Daugherty, 69, Elwood, an uncle of Gene Conard, sports writer for the Kokomo Tribune, died at 3:15 p.m. Monday in the Tipton Memorial Hospital following a one-month illness.
Born Nov. 3, 1889, he was the only son of Frank C. and Daisy S. Daugherty. He had spent most of his lifetime in Elwood.
He was first married to Edna Scholl and later was united in marriage to Flo Richwine.
An auto mechanic, he retired from the L. C. Products Co. at Elwood due to ill health.
Among the survivors are two sons, Raymond Edward of Hartford City and Robert LeRoy of Atlanta; a sister, Mrs. John C. (Eva) Conard, Kokomo; one grandson, Jimmie, and another nephew, George. One grandson and a sister are deceased.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at the Dunnichay and York Funeral Home in Elwood.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
