Jerry G. Johnson, 83, of Moore, OK, the love of Charlene's life for 63 years, 10 months, and 21 days went to be with our Lord on June 28, 2018. He was born September 24, 1934 to Claude and Alda Johnson of Alamogordo, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife Charlene Johnson; 3 children, Sherral DeWitt and husband Ernie DeWitt; Jerry E. Johnson and fiancé Annette Collier; and Randall Johnson and life partner Martin Soebbing. 6 grandchildren; Amy Clymer and husband Stephen Clymer, April Treadwell, Michelle Ashley and husband John Ashley, Melissa Johnson. 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Alda Johnson, 2 brothers, 4 sisters, and 3 grandchildren; Michael E Johnson, Miranda K Johnson, and Kandace H Hill. Jerry was a devoted truck driver for Lee Way Motor Freight for 16 years. From there he hauled cars for Jack Cooper for 12 years until he retired in October of 1996. Jerry also served our nation as a veteran on February 17, 1953 and served in the Korean War on the USS Alvin C. Cockrell ship until the war ended on July 27, 1953. He received an honorable discharge from the Navy on February 7, 1957. Jerry loved his family. His favorite thing to do was to cook on the grill for his family and spend time with everyone. He never met a stranger and everyone loved to hear his stories of him growing up as a little boy. He loved watching western movies, football, and the Thunder games. He still washed their vehicles by hand if he could. He never took them to a car wash. He enjoyed doing his own yard work. He wouldn't hire anyone to do his yardwork, he wanted it done his way. He was loved by all who met him and will be missed by many family and friends. Services are at Sunny Lane Funeral Home Chapel Monday, July 2, 10 a.m. Burial at Sunny Lane Cemetery.
