ELDER- James Hoyt (Jack) Elder, 80 a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 1992. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Virgie Viola Elder, on February 21, 1992. He is survived by one daughter, Virginia Kay Elder, of Castle Rock, CO; two sons, Virgil H. Elder and wife, Betty, of Albuquerque, Douglas J. Elder and wife, Dagmar, of Colorado springs, CO; one sister, Dorothy Coxart and husband, Hugh, of Watkeomes, OK; four grandchildren, Kelly Dawn Elder of Albuquerque; Kimberly Kay Plowman and husband, Mathew, of Albuquerque; Angela Jablonsky and husband, Jim, of Silver Springs, MD, Gregory B. Elder, of Colorado Springs, CO; a nephew, Malcome Woodward and wife, Mary, of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Elder was a charter member of Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ, and the Chaparral Trailer Club. He graduated from the Oklahoma Military Academy in 1932 and retired from Sandia National Laboratories in 1974. Visitation will be held in the drawing room of Strong-Thorne, 1100 Coal SE on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Montgomery Blvd. Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens.
