Ann Louise Bullock Monahan, 86, Gettysburg, Pa., died peacefully at her home on Friday, June 29, 2018.

She was born July 22, 1931 in Media, Pa., the daughter of the late Eon and Dorothy Mink Bullock. Her husband of 64 years, Robert J. Monahan Sr., died in 2015.

As a child, Ann spent her summers in Wildwood Crest, N.J. where her parents owned and operated the Hotel Belmar founded by Ann's grandfather, George Mink, in 1936. Ann married Robert J. Monahan in 1951 in Norristown, Pa., and relocated to Gettysburg in 1953. The couple then established the Monahan Funeral Home in 1964. For many years, Ann worked with her husband in the family business while raising their four sons. In 1977, the family purchased a second funeral home in Fairfield, Pa., both of which remain family owned and operated.

Ann was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. She was a former member of the Gettysburg Hospital Auxiliary. An avid bridge player, Ann belonged to several clubs for over 50 years enjoying the fellowship and close friendships she developed over the years. In later years, she enjoyed spending time at her beach home in Avalon, N.J., often in the company of family and friends.

Ann was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She is survived by her four sons, Robert J. Monahan Jr. and his wife Laurie of Palm Beach, Fla., William P. Monahan and his wife Sharon of Gettysburg, Thomas M. Monahan and his wife Barbara of Gettysburg, and Peter M. Monahan and his wife Elizabeth of Gettysburg; nine grandchildren, Kelly Harrold and her husband Cotton, and Brooke, Kathryn, Timothy, Ellie, Tommy, Brian, Elizabeth and Caroline Monahan; and a sister Joyce Goode of Pawley's Island, S.C. Ann was predeceased by a grandson Will Monahan, and a brother E. Robert Bullock.
