William H. Conners, son of Perry and Sarah "Sally" Kiger Conners, was born on Friday, July 25, 1851, either in Cass County, Missouri or in Illinois and died on April 26, 1903 at the Illinois Soldier's and Sailor's Home in Quincy, Adams County, Illinois. He was buried on April 29, 1903 in the Sunset Cemetery on the grounds of the Illinois Veteran's Home in Quincy. He was 1st married to Mahala M. Allen, daughter of Richard Harrison and Nancy Jane Baugher Allen, on July 4, 1874 in Hannibal Marion County, Missouri. At the time of their marriage Mahala was only 14 years of age and required her father's written consent to be married. I have a copy of that consent signed by her father R. H. Allen.
He was a Civil War Veteran, and served in Company D of the 13th Missouri Cavalry.
