Mary Louise (Wolpers) Uebel of Richfield, Minnesota, died peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, January 20, 2013. She was 93 years old.

Mary Louise Kessler was born on December 11, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan, to Frank W. and Julia Schlachcikowski Kessler. Mary was a devout Catholic and is now walking with God. She enjoyed life to the fullest. She was an avid card player and loved watching and rooting for the Twins, Vikings, and Gophers. Mary was very social and was able to make anyone she met feel at ease. She loved to dance, golf, take long walks, and until recently loved to swim. She was an honored longtime volunteer at Fairview Southdale Hospital.

To her family, Mary was the Mom they thought everybody should have. She taught them how to work hard, and how to dance. How to be kind and how to be fair. How to be responsible and how to take chances. How to eat good comfort food, but not to forget the pie. How to fight through adversity and rejoice with each little victory. How to love their children as she loved them. How to fly away and always have her open arms to come home to.

Many of her friends called her "Mother Mary", counting on her for guidance and genuine friendship. As she walks with God she will continue to guide us all, singing along the way. She prayed daily for anyone who needed it and for some who may not realize they did. She was prepared to meet God and Jesus. Mary was her children's mom. She was the leader of their family. She set the tone and the course. They could not help but follow her. They will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Virgil Wolpers; her second husband, Frank Uebel; three sisters, Isabell, Virginia, and Dorothy; and five brothers, Frank, Edward, Arthur, Roman, and Jack.
