Glen William Adams, born September 21, 1926 in Sylva, North Carolina, was the fifth child of George Marion Adams and Hattie Ashe
Glen lived in the Punkin Center and Sedro-Woolley areas most of his life. He attended the Hamilton Grade School. When WWII started, he enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. He served in Europe and the Pacific. He witnessed the Atomic Bomb testing at Bikini Atoll.
Glen met and married Gerry Schryer August 21, 1948. They had two children, Michael and Linda.
Glen worked for several construction firms; he helped fall the trees where Baker Lake now is. He loved the woods and was a Bull Buck for Scott Paper Company at Hamilton.
Glen also served as a Volunteer Fireman in Punkin Center before retiring.
He loved his grandchildren, garden, splitting wood, woodcrafts, picking blackberries and fishing. He was always busy and had a helping hand for anyone in need. He was a member of the Church of God in Punkin Center.
Glen is survived by his wife, Gerry; daughter, Linda (Henry) LaCount; four grandchildren and spouses, Jonathan (Bonnie) LaCount, Angela Adams, Cassna LaCount and Staci Adams; great- grandchildren, Megan Adams, Colby Burrus, Mitchell Wemple, Amelia Wemple, Breanna Rohweder, Lydia LaCount, Alivia Adams, Kaitland Adams, Logan Wemple, Kingsley Ramos, Tyler Davis and Jaxon Wemple; sister-in- laws, Veryl Hitt, Georgie Mathis and Barbara Medford.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael; three brothers, George, Ray and Furman; two sisters, Nellie Georgia and Annie Bowers; sister-in-laws, Francis Adams, Jackie Adams, Evie Adams and Phyllis Queen; brother-in-laws Roy Queen, James Mathis, Don Hitt, Bill Schryer; nephew, Wayne Queen; nieces, Carolyn Scott and Donna Medford.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00, Monday, July 9, 2018 at the Hamilton Cemetery, with Military Honors, Pastor James Hughes and Bishop Allard Smith presiding. A time of visitation will be available on Friday from Noon to 5:00 and Saturday 9:00 to 1:00 at Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
