Irma Weiss Blattner, 84, passed away on Wednesday November 22, 2017 in Lake Mary, FL. A graveside funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday November 27, 2017 at the New Center Cemetery, 200 E. 43rd St., Jacksonville, FL 32208, with Rabbi Jonathan Lubliner as Officiant. Mrs. Blattner was born in New York City on March 27, 1933 to Samuel Weiss & Anna Shostak Weiss. She was a longtime Jacksonville resident, moving to Jacksonville with her family at the age of 18 months. She was a member of the Jacksonville Jewish Center and the Jacksonville Jewish Center Sisterhood. Additionally, Irma was a Life Member of Hadassah and a Life Member of the River Garden Auxiliary, where she chaired the successful Quarters Project for many years. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will truly be missed by all of those who knew her. Mrs. Blattner was preceded in death by her parents and by her sisters, Doris Klepper and Edith Berman. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Sheldon M. Blattner of Jacksonville; a son, Craig D. Blattner (wife, Jody) of Longwood, FL; a daughter, Gail B. Kaplan (husband, Larry) of Sandy, UT; 8 grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer), Carly (Marshall), Allie, David, Daniel & Nathan; 1 great grandchild: Brenna; and by many extended family & friends. Memorials may be made in her name to The Jacksonville Jewish Center or to River Garden Hebrew Home.
