Funeral Services for Ada Sims will be held Saturday, December 20th at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Rose Hill, MS with Reverend Michael Sims officiating. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Sims, age 68, of Rose Hill, MS passed away Wednesday December 17th, 2014 at her sons residence in DeKalb, MS.
Mrs. Sims was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rose Hill.
Survivors include her husband, George Sims; sons, Michael Sims and wife Rebecca, George Sims and wife Mellissa of Rose Hill, and Raymond Sims of Rose Hill; one sister, Virgie May Hamilton, of Bentonville, Arkansas; brothers, Leon Punchard (Judy), Roger Punchard (Elizabeth), and Johnny Punchard (May), all of Jonesville, Louisiana. Grandchildren Daniel Foreman (Lindsey) of Meridian, Kayla Sims of Meridian, Christopher Sims (fiancé Cara), Faith Sims, and Ashley Spears all of Rose Hill, MS; great-grandchildren Gauge Kirkpatrick, Avery Foreman and Kaden Margrave of Meridian and Addison and Bristol Germany of Rose Hill; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Myrtis Coleman Punchard Burgess; father James Lee Punchard; sister Jessie Grantham and daughter Angela Spears.
The family request memorials be made to Anderson’s Cancer Center Benevolence Fund or The Gideons.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of Rose Hill First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 19, 2014 from 5-7 p.m. at Robert Barham Family Funeral Home.
