Daughter of Garret Terhune who married 1775 to Willempe Wyckoff (1751-1833); named for maternal grandmother Magdalena "Lena" Derje/Duryea (1716-1803) who married first Cornelius Wyckoff (1715-1756) and second in 1763 to Jan/John Staats (1713-1781) of Hillsborough Twp, Somerset Co NJ.
Magdalene was married 1 January 1800 to Goyn Talmage (1778-1812) of Somerset County, NJ. They had three children baptized in the First Reformed Church of Raritan, Somerset County, NJ: Thomas Talmage baptised 22 November 1801, Catherine Terhune Talmage baptized 25 March 1804, Sarah Vredenburgh Talmage baptized 29 June 1806 (source: Somerset County Historical Quarterly volume 4 1915, pages 295-298 [covering January 1796 - Dec 1807]). A history of the church is found in Somerset County Historical Quarterly volume 2 1913, pages 38-40.
Additional baptism records of the Dutch Reformed Church of Raritan (available on Ancestry) list other children of Goyn & Magdalene: Mary baptized 29 May 1808, Martence baptized 15 July 1810, and Goyn baptized 13 Sept 1812 (Magdalene is listed as widow of Goyn who had died in April 1812). Goyn and Magdalene's youngest daughter baptized Martence is known later as Mertena/Martina who married Edward Patterson and had two sons Edward Patterson (1839-1910) and John Henry Patterson (1843-1920).
