Mrs Marie LaTeur, 88, Spring Valley resident for 65 years and widow of a Spanish American War veteran died at 3:15pm Wednesday at St. Margaret's Hospital. She had been hospitalized for 10 weeks.
Mrs. LaTeur was born January 8, 1871 in Seraing-sur-Meuse, Belgium to Louis MACHIELS and Marguerite Rausa. She married Henri Boumal September 7, 1890 in Seraing-sur-Meuse. He died in 1908. In 1915 she married the late Henry LaTeur, a Spanish American War veteran. He died in 1938.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Spring Valley.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Peter (Marguerite)Terando and Mrs Theodore (Sophie) Sebastian of Spring Valley; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a great great grandchild of Mountain Home, Idaho, and a sister Victoria Mercier of Belgium. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Nicholas in Belgium.
Funeral services will be at 8:30am Saturday in the Riva funeral home and at 9am in St. Anthony's Catholic church. The Reverend Koloman Kasaovic will officiate at a requiem mass. Burial will be at Mt Olivet Cemetery.
Visitation in the funeral home begins at 8pm today. The rosary will be recited there at 8pm Friday.
