She was four years old when her mother died. She lived with Aunt Annie Daybell then went to live with her cousin, Tessie Murdock, where Lamar was living. At the age of 12 she met her father and brothers Lamar, Leslie and Claude, back to Wyoming where she lived with Rachel and Will.
Later she moved to Dry Fork Canyon, near Vernal to be with her brothers. When the schools were closed down because of a flu epidemic, Sarah went to Hagerman, Idaho to be with her sister, Lottie.
That fall she moved to Boise with the George Martin family for whom she was working and lived with them one winter. The next year Sarah entered nursing school in Salt Lake City but was unable to finish the three year course because of illness.
While she was recouperating she took a trip with Pearl to Jackson, Wyoming then a visit with Rachel in Utah. While at Rachel's she met Franklin Ross Case, son of Frederick Aaron Case and Mary Ann Humble and they were married May 15, 1923 when Sarah was 23 years old.
Sarah and Ross made their home in Roosevelt and later built a home in Mt. Emmons. Eventually Sarah and Ross purchased a farm near Vernal and settled there, only moving to Salt Lake City the last few years of their lives. Franklin died January 3, 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
