He graduated high school and worked for Smith Corona typewriters in Syracuse, NY. March 18,1941, he joined the Navy. He traveled the 7 seas,
He caught REUMATIC FEVER IN 1946. The Navy stationed him at CORONA NAVY HOSPITAL Norco, CA. There he meet my 18 year old mother, they married 2 weeks later, September 15, 1946. He mustered out after 8 years,4 months, and a one way train ticket to Syracuse, NY, in Jan. 1947. He took his bride of a few hours on the train, and they lived in Syracuse area New York. They only stayed there 3 years. They agreed New York was not the place, and moved back to Norco, CA., with a 2 month old daughter. He worked at different jobs until he hired on Civil Service at Norton Air Force Base. They trained him as a Geek squad for communications, traveling Arizona, California and Nevada. Despite the traveling he found time to have 2 more children , sons Robert and Donald. He became a Boy Sout Pack leader. Later treasurer and Commander of DAV post 8.
After having heart trouble as a result of rheumatic fever in the war, they performed open heart surgery, JULY 11, 1968. On ST.PATRICKS DAY 1986 it finally killed him. He died in Las Vegas, Nevada after traveling up there in his motor home within an hour of arriving. He was laughing about not having slot machines in the parking lot(silly people for missing this opportunity) and fell down dead. He literally died laughing.
