John Allen Coleman Death
John Allen Coleman, son of John and Malinda Coleman, was born near Aaron, Bates county, Missouri, November 25, 1874.
After his mother's death in 1882, he made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Davis. On January 22, 1901, he married Mary Luanna Tabor in Creighton. Most of his life was spent near Aaron. About 10 years ago he and his wife moved to El Dorado Springs where they lived at the time of his wife's death on Sept. 3, 1953.
Since then he had made his home with his son, Raymond Coleman, and family, at Buckner, Mo. He had been in poor health since his wife's death. On Saturday, May 15, he was taken to Lakeside hospital in Kansas City and passed away Monday morning May 17 at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 22 days.
He is survived by two sons, Raymond Coleman of Buckner and Jack Coleman of Kansas City, two daughters, Mrs. Francis (Bertha) Wright, of Sacramento, Calif.; and Mrs. R. C, (Margie) Ford, Wellsville, Kas.; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; one brother, James H. Coleman, Creighton, Mo; one sister, Mrs. Ollie Puckett, Vinita, Okla.; a half-sister Mrs. Albert (Belle) Garrison, of Clinton.
Mr. and Mrs. Coleman celebrated their golden wedding at their home in El Dorado Springs on January 22, 1951. He was a member of the Christian church of Aaron.
Funeral services were held at the Chrisitan church in Creighton May 19. Burial was in Cove Creek cemetery in Bates county. Attending from El Dorado Springs were Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Roby, Jack Roby, Mr. and Mrs. Buford Tabor and Mrs. Mattie Swaggart. (obit courtesy of Geanpoole)
