Major League Baseball Player. A native of Barberton, Ohio, he attended Florida State University, where he excelled in baseball and was a star pitcher on the university's baseball team. He was chosen in the 10th round, 277th overall, of the 1991 entry draft. He made his major league debut four years later on July 29, 1995, and played a total of 3 years in the majors. Robinson played the position of pitcher for the Toronto Blue Jays from 1995 to 1997, and the Kansas City Royals in 1996. Robinson's major league career consisted of a 1-2 record with a 3.69 ERA, and 21 games with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1995. He also had a 2-2 record with 40 strikeouts and a 3.91 ERA in 48.1 innings pitched. Robinson quit the major leagues in 1997, after being waived by Toronto. He later played with the Triple-A Syracuse in 1997, and the Arizona Diamondbacks (He was signed to the Diamondbacks on February 17, 1998, but was out the whole year of 1998 due to a shoulder injury) in 1999. Robinson was killed in a car accident in Tucson, Arizona. He was just 29 years old. His fellow Arizona Diamondsback player, John Rosengren, was also involved the crash, but survived.
