Deborah jumped from airplanes at state and county fairs, and may be the first female to do such a daring thing in 1920. She died when her parachute took her out over Lake Michigan near Empire. She was in her 20s. She was not the first aviatrix, but she did work as one in 1920. Some believe she used the name Ethel Dare, but that is incorrect. Deborah flew in an airplane named "Ethel Dare."
