RUTLAND - Darren C. Boutwell, 55, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

Family:
Born and raised in Marlborough, Darren was the son of Donald C. and the late Carol Y. (Burnett) Boutwell and lived 24 years in Rutland.
He will be remembered and lovingly missed by his wife of 28 years, Christine T. (Adams) Boutwell;
three daughters, Jessica Lomax and her husband, Garrick of Southbridge, Christy and Kimberly Boutwell both of Rutland;
his father, Donald C. Boutwell, Sr. of Middletown Springs, Vermont; six brothers, Chucky Gilchrest and Donald Boutwell, Jr. both of Marlborough, Keith Gilchrest and his wife, Charlene of Lancaster, Paul Gilchrest and his wife, Diane of Marlborough, Jay Boutwell and his wife, Valerie of Marlborough and Jeff Gilchrest of Westborough; two sisters, Debbie Perks and her husband, Hebert of Charlton and Dorinda Bell of Hudson; and many nephews and nieces.
He is also predeceased by his brother, Dean Boutwell and his beloved mother, Agnes (Porter) Boutwell who raised him from a child.

Life:
Darren spent 14 years working as a rural letter carrier in Princeton for the United States Postal Service.
He looked forward to daily conversations with his customers and co-workers, Ron Densmore and Becky Harding. He is remembered by his friends as a kind, generous man who was always willing to help. Darren's hobbies included fishing, playing golf and painting homes.
Darren was a devoted husband and father. He was truly a family man who loved just spending time with those he cared for. Darren always provided loving care, comfort and support to his girls.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Darren's family from 5 to 8 pm on Monday, September 11, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, September 12, at St. Patrick's Church, 258 Main St., Rutland.
Interment will follow at Rural Cemetery in Rutland.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Ellie Fund for Breast Cancer, 200 Reservoir St., Needham, MA 02494 (elliefund.org).
