He was born in Lynwood, California, and was the son of Gerald and Laura Janese (Cheek) Jeffrey. He lived in Kiowa and McAlester most of his life. He was a security guard at 69 Cinema Movie Theater and also worked as security guard at Mcalester Regional Health Center. He was an excellent musician and singer with several local bands, mostly recently being Blue Zebra. He was a member of Main and Oklahoma Church of Christ. He passed away in McAlester at the age of 42. Survivors include his mother, Laura Janese (Cheek) Jeffrey; two sons, Joshua Scott Jeffrey and Johnathan David Jeffrey; the mother of his children, Lisa Hodges. Also, aunts and spouse, Joan Marie Cheek, and June Maureen (Cheek) Allen and husband, Edward; brother, John Charles Jeffrey. And, nephew, James Charles Jeffrey; cousins, Christi Walker and husband, Scott; second cousins, Landon and Micayla Walker; special friends, Nellie Wallis and Kenneth Wallis; relatives in Kiowa, and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, John and Hartie Cheek, and Ada and Charles Jeffrey; two aunts, Jane (Cheek) Perkins and Lois Poe, and special friends, Dean Riech and Kent Halsted. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Main & Oklahoma Church of Christ with Dick Stites officiating. Burial will be at Kiowa Cemetery under the direction of Brumley-Mills Funeral Home of McAlester.
