Sharon Diane (Lee) Sears
March 27, 1959 ~ July 12, 2018

Sharon Diane (Lee) Sears, 59, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Central Florida Regional Hospital after a sudden illness. Sharon was born March 27, 1959 in Ashland, KY to the late Tom and Johnnie Lee of Burnaugh, KY.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband John Sears of Sanford, FL; son Nicholas Sears of Pasco County, FL; sister Linda (Jack) Hammond of Louisa, KY; nephews Gerry (Myra) Hammond of Prichard, WV and Mark (Laci) Hammond of Ashland, KY; great nephews Tucker Hammond, Blake Hammond, James Ingles; special great niece Kyah Hammond; and many cousins and extended family.

Sharon graduated from Boyd County High School in 1977 and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky. She spent her adult life working in Public Relations, most recently as the Orlando Market Manager for Guidewell Emergency Doctors. Sharon also spent many other years at jobs in marketing and public relations, including a political consultant, Executive Director of Convention and Visitors Bureau, a professor for University of Dayton, Marketing and Public Relations Director for Dayton International Airport, Public Relations Manager for Port of Columbus International Airport, and Public Relations Director for the Greater Cincinnati March of Dimes.

Sharon was a very special person, who lived life to the fullest every day. She always wanted nothing more than to make a difference in people's lives. She was an avid University of Kentucky fan, serving on local, regional and national alumni boards. She was also an avid animal lover and always had her trusted Rottweilers Jenny and Calli by her side. Family was everything to Sharon (also known as Nana). She would move mountains for them. Even though she left Kentucky many years ago, it was always home. She would tell anyone that would listen about where she was from, the people she loved, and most importantly about her family.

Visitation for Sharon will be Friday, July 20, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Danny Wallace officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammond Cemetery.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Sears.
