RUTH EVELYN (ALFELD) HORACEK, 93, passed away on Friday, June 13, 2018. Born Dec. 17, 1924, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of William and Esther (Springer) Alfeld. Ruth married the love of her life, George Horacek Sr. on June 9, 1945. Ruth is survived by her eight children, Linda (Alan) Bogner of Florida, Judi Lumpp of Connecticut, Joe (Laura) Horacek of Florida, Denny Horacek of Arizona, David (Margaret) Horacek, Mary Jane Langston, John (Kathleen) Horacek, and Christine (Gary) Bradtmueller, all of Indiana; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren, brother, Louis (Lois) Alfeld; and many wonderful nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, George Sr.; sons, George "Rick" Jr. and Stephen; daughter, Kathleen; grandchildren, Jeffrey Gammons and Marnie Ruthenberg; great-grandchilden, Tristan Horacek and Aiden Johnson; three sisters, and five brothers. Graveside service is 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Catholic Cemetery, 3500 Lake Ave., Fort Wayne.
