AYRSHIRE, Iowa -- Services for Larry K. Holmes, Ayrshire, formerly of Eldridge, were Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Ayrshire. Burial is in Laurens Cemetery. Mr. Holmes died Feb. 26, 2001, at Palo Alto County Hospital, Emmetsburg. He had worked at JPI Manufacturing and was a certified nurse assistant at Oakland Manor and Spencer Hospital. He retired in October 2000. He had served as an emergency medical technician while living in Eldridge. He was born June 7, 1938, in Griswold. He married Phyllis Pope in 1958. He married Berniece Milne in 1989. Survivors include his wife, Bea; a daughter, Teresa Bracker, Davenport; sons, Scott and James, both of Hudson, Wis., Jarret, Ayrshire, Daniel, Waukee, and Timothy, Fort Hill Ranch, Calif.; stepsons, David Milne, Blaine, Minn., and Tom Milne, Madison, S.D.; 11 grandchildren; his mother, Gertrude Holmes, Atlantic; sisters, Lavone Wierich, Lewis, and Lois Figgins and Loretta Olsen, both of Atlantic; and brothers, Leonard Jr., Atlantic, Lloyd, Battle Creek, LeRoy, Des Moines, and Lyle, Sioux Falls.
