Sylvester W. Bennett Entered Into Eternal Rest Monday, April 16, 1973
Mr. Sylvester W. Bennett, age 80, of Rt. 2, Box 267 Dade City, passed away Monday morning in a Tampa Hospital. A native of Live Oak, Florida he had lived in this area for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Amelia Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Bennett, Tampa; W.E. "Bill" Bennett, Dade City; four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Champion, Galveston, Texas; Mrs. Dorothy McNatt, Dade City; Mrs. Betty Terry and Mrs. Barbara Carter both of Tampa. One brother, George Bennett, Gainesville, FL.; two sisters, Mrs. Sara Evans, Live Oak, FL. and Mrs. Florence Byrd, Thonotasassa, FL., 20 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Bennett will lie in state at the Open Bible Baptist Church, 9218 26th Street, Tampa from noon Wednesday until 2 P.M. at which time services will be conducted by Rev. James Crosby pastor of the church and Rev. Cameron Holley officiating. Grandsons and nephews of Mr. Bennett will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery. Coleman and Ferguson Company in charge arrangements.
