Mr. Nunamaker was born August 11, 1874, in Richland County, a son of the late Catherine Hiller and Arthur Sebastian Nunamaker.
He had made his home in the St. Andrews section most of his life and had lived at his present address for the past 36 years. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1904 until 1908 and during World War I worked as a machinist at the Navy Yard at Norfolk, Va. and the ordnance plant at Charleston, W. Va.
Mr. Nunamaker was in the lumber business for a number of years in Manning and Columbia, being associated with the Columbia Lumber and Manufacturing Company. In 1925 he began operating his farm, which he continued until retirement.
He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and a past member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. John A. (Mary Ellen) Garner, Columbia; three grandchildren, Miss Margaret Ellen Garner, John Albert Garner and James "Jim" Franklin "Frank" Garner, all of Columbia; a sister, Mrs. Minnie T. Young of Columbia; a brother, Mr. Arthur Bates Nunamaker of Columbia and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted in the Dunbar Funeral Home at 5 p. m. today by his pastor, the Rev. Robert F. Shelby, Jr. and the Rev. L. E. Blackwelder, superintendent of the Lowman Home at White Rock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are James Nunamaker, Ernest Nunamaker, Claude Long, Addison Parrott, C. L. Ellisor and T. A. Logue.
