Maxine Lavon (Mays) Dragnich, 97 of Midlothian, VA passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 5, 2018 at Brandermill Woods Nursing Home in Midlothian.

She was born on May 11, 1921 to Ada Swayze Mays and Harry Hudson Mays in Howe, Idaho.

Maxine started school at the Catron School in Howe, continuing school at the Howe Elementary. At the age of 14 she went to Boise and graduated from Boise High School. From there she went to Moscow to attend the University of Idaho for one year before meeting Stanley Dragnich, who was attending Washington State University. She and Stan married on June 23, 1941.

After her marriage, Maxine enlisted in the Army during WWII. She and Stan served in the military in various part of the United States and Europe.

Maxine was gifted artist and her other hobbies included reading, sewing, gardening and travel.

She is survived by her son and daughter, three grandsons, nine great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, numerous nieces and nephews and a special family friend, Barbara Pegrum, of Maine.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, sister Peggy Gray, brother Jack Mays, Husband Stanley Dragnich and son-in-law Mike Denny.
