"Aunty Edna" J. Aguil, 83, of Pahala, Hawaii passed away on Friday, September 3, 2010 at her residence. She was born on August 7, 1927, in Pahala, Hawaii. She was a retired School Teacher for Pahala Elementary and gave extensively to the community by donating her time to the following organizations: Pahala Hospital Auxiliary, Ka`ahumanu Society, ILWU Pension Club, Hawaii State Teachers Association (HSTA) and Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was an advisor for the Pahala Filipino Club as well as chairperson for their Scholarship Fund. She was the Kumu Hula and Owner of Hula Halau O Mahealani.

Friends may call on Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, where a Wake service will be held at 7:00 PM. Friends may also call on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM where a Mass will be held at 10:00 AM. An Urn Committal Service will be held at the Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section) on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 12 noon. The family requests casual aloha attire and that in Memory of Aunty Edna Aguil donations can be made to either Hospice of Hilo, 1011 Waianuenue Ave., Hilo, Hawaii 96720 or the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church, P.O. Box 760, Pahala, HI 96777.

She is survived by her: HANAI DAUGHTER, Sandi A Campos of Beaverton, Oregon, SISTERS, Gladys (David) Lunasco of Honolulu, Hawaii and Reina (Harold) Leong of Honolulu, Hawaii; HANAI SISTER, Thelma (Akira) Yanagida of Hilo, Hawaii, SISTER IN-LAW, Patsy Asejo of Honolulu, Hawaii; NIECES, Sharynn Kauwe Moniz of Honolulu, Oahu and Gwendolyn Aguil Sorensen of Pahala, HI; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, great grandnieces and great grandnephews.
