STANLEY THEODORE SMITH, 92, of Lindsay, passed away Monday, April 30, 2007, in Lindsay.
Graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Rush Springs Cemetery, with David Hale officiating. Burial will be under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Stanley was born July 22, 1914 in Rush Springs, to Roy Smith and Ethel Patrick Smith. Stanley married Pauline Barry on July 2, 1935 in Rush Springs. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2005. Stanley lived in the Rush Springs area most of his life before moving to Lindsay in 2005. He graduated from Rush Springs High School. Stanley retired from Mobil Oil Company as a field production technician. Stanley enjoyed working in the garden and playing with his dogs. He was a Mason, a member of the Rush Springs school board, served as deacon at the Southern Baptist Church, and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lindsay.
His survivors include a son, Charlie Roy Smith and wife Martha of Burnsville, N.C.; a daughter, Rosaline Hilderbrandt and husband Floyd of Lindsay; five grandchildren, Aaron Smith, Molly Sonier, Tammy Allison, Jamie Hilderbrandt and Phillip Hilderbrandt; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Raymond Smith of Albuquerque, N.M., and Eugene Smith of Kalispell, Mont.; a sister, Nadine Anderson of Gresham, Ore.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Fern Yocum; and two brothers, George Smith and Henry Smith.
