Charles Julius Ames passed away at his home at Rock Creek, Oregon on Thursday, February 6.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church at Arlington, Oregon, Feb. 9th with burial at Mary Hill, Wash. Mr. Ames was 75 years of age and was an old pioneer of Klickitat County; having lived in Mary Hill in the early days when it was called Columbus. He was well known up and down the Columbia River as he worked on the boats in the early days and then everyone knew him as Cappy Ames.
He married Emma Wheelhouse, of Columbus in 1892 and she passed away on Oct. 20, 1946.
