Ruth Barker Marrone passed away July 24, 2018. Ruth was born on August 16, 1921 to Nora Shepard and Alonzo Barker in Willard, Utah. She was the fifth child of eight.
She graduated form Box Elder High in 1939.
Ruth married Anthony Marrone on March 27, 1943 in Malad, Idaho. Anthony passed away on May 5, 1980.
Ruth was a member of the of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Ruth worked hard her entire life. She co-owned Tony’s Trophies for many years. Ruth enjoyed bowling, painting, crocheting, and sewing. She was an avid sports fan and followed her favorite teams faithfully. Ruth loved her Cubbies and Broncos. She enjoyed puzzles, playing Words with Friends and having Instagram chats with her family.
Ruth also enjoyed music and movies, especially musicals, singing beautiful show tunes like Que Sera Sera, Shall We Dance, and Somewhere, My Love.
She loved her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supported them throughout her life.
In her own words, “Tootles to my beautiful Marrone Girls who lived on Marrone hill.”
Ruth is survived by six daughters: Judy (Ray) Korth; Diana (Kenny) Davis; Becky (Randall) Christensen; Kathy (Larry) Young; Toni (Frank) Quintana and Cindy (Ennis) Rushton; 22 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and one brother Dean Barker. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Marrone; parents: Nora and Alonzo Barker; daughter Patty (Gary) Boerens; sons-in-law: Randall Christensen and Frank Quintana; grandchildren: Zachary Korth and Jordan Young; great-grandson Alex Korth. Brothers and sisters: Earl barker; Carl Barker, Doris Younger; Harry Barker; Rex Barker and Edith Barker.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Willard Cemetery.
