Ransom was born October 7, 1918 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, to Frank William and Saphronia Lee (Mingo) Dick. Ransom moved to Grove in 1987 from Juneau, Alaska. He became a member of the Independent Baptist Church in Grove in 1989.
Ransom is survived by his wife, Marianne, of the home; one son, Larry Dean Dick of Florence, South Carolina; two sisters, Vera McGilbray of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Joy Philbeck of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one brother, Richard Dick, and his wife Peggy of Fort Washington, Maryland; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ransom is preceded in death by five sisters and one brother.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 3, 2007, at the Independent Baptist Church of Grove, Oklahoma, with Pastor Marty Hughes officiating. Family will receive friends at a visitation at Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove on Wednesday May 2, from 5pm until 7pm. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service at Council House Cemetery in Wyandotte, Oklahoma. The Grove Veterans' Ritual Team will participate at the graveside service.
