Mr. Lemons retired from Bethlehem Steel as a safety engineer and then worked as a state inspector for IOSHA. In his earlier years, he worked at Enco Service station. He was a member of Masonic Acme Lodge F&AM 83 and a former member of Southwind Immanuael Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
On Dec. 15, 1962, in Michigan City, he married Elizabeth "Betty" Chess, who survives. Also surviving are a special niece, Lisa Lackman of Avery, Texas; a special nephew, David Czapla of Valparaiso; several other nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Rodney Green of Michigan City. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Lloyd.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date and there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place. Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, Michigan City, is in charge of arrangements.
