Katie was a wonderful lady who truly loved, cared, and always put her family's needs before her own. She was very much loved and will be greatly missed. She and her husband "Buck" were married for 77 years and after his retirement moved from Gardendale to Smith Lake. She so much enjoyed her life on the lake watching the birds and wildlife, hosting her family, and cuddling her little dog "Peanut".
Katie is preceded in death by her parents, Tom Ervin Taylor and Icy Estelle Ferguson Taylor; a son, Jerome Jones; and her brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Lonnie "Buck" Jones and her extended family members who loved her so much.
Services will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at 2 PM at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service with burial to follow in Moncrief Cemetery in Gardendale.
