He was born December 23, 1917, in Alden, Michigan, to Arthur and Florence Henderson. He graduated from high school in Alden.
Mr. Henderson served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded the American and European African Middle Eastern Campaign medals and the World War II Victory Medal.
He was retired from a 30 year career as a bus driver in Detroit Michigan.
He enjoyed the friendship of his pet dog, Bebe.
Survivors include his companion, Elva Wettstead of Bremerton, Washington; two daughters Charlotte Jones of Alaska and Darlene Kanuch of Oberlin, Ohio. Charlotte's children Cindy Beardsley and Nancy Olesiak, both of Alaska, and Steve Henderson of California. He has four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren from Darlene. He was preceded in death by his wife Wretha E Henderson (9-30-1919 to 10-29-1992).
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Claremont East Retirement Apartments, 2707 Clare Ave. in Bremerton Washington. Memorial donations may be made to the Kidney Center of Olympic Peninsula, 2740 Clare Ave., Bremerton, Washington 98310.
