Mrs. Henry L. Waunk Died February 17

Our community was shocked on Saturday evening February 17 when it became known that Mrs. Henry Waunk had passed away.

Her last illness was of short duration making it impossible for her to bid goodbye to those who were near, and dear to her. Death came almost instantaneous at 8:45.

Mrs. Waunk was a daughter of the late Lester and Chloey Goodar Lockwood. She was born at Warsaw, Jefferson county and lived practically all her life in that county. The passing of Mrs. Wank not only leaves a vacancy in her home, where she will be missed by her husband, but a large circle of relatives and friends. Her keen sense of humor and ready wit endeared her to all both old and young alike. She was an earnest devoted Christian looking forward to the second coming of Jesus and the resurrection of the dead as spoken of by Paul in 1st Thess. 4:16, Kind and sympathetic with lofty ideas, and high principals which made it possible for her to loan comfort to all who came to her for advice.

She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, five sisters and three brothers, namely, Mrs. E. E. Stahlman, of Kittanning, Pa., Mrs. F. W. Jackson, of Shawmut, Pa., Mrs. A. H. Minor, Brockway, Pa., Mrs. A. A., Shelley, Brockway, Pa., Mrs. H. W. Martin, Olean, N. Y., Joseph Lockwood, DuBois, Pa., Daniel and John, of Brockway.

The funeral took place Wednesday at 2 p. m. from the M. E. Church, Elder H. K. Christman, Dr. of Theology of the Mount Vernon College, O., had charge of the services, assisted by Elder C. E. Reichenbaugh, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Falls Creek. The choir rendered several beautiful, musical selections. The pall bearers were her nephews, Alonzo Lockwood, Sidney and Walter Lockwood, Harold and Raymond Lockwood and E. Luther Martin.

Those who came for a distance to attend the funeral were, Mr. Walter Waunk and son John, of DuBois, Mrs. Joseph Lahr and daughter Helene, Joseph Lahr Jr., and Miss Celia Waunk all of Indiana, Pa.

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Obenrader and son Walter, of Fryburg, Pa., Mrs. Malcolm Johnson and Mrs. O. S. Winslow, of Ridgway, Pa., and Mrs. Owen Gailey also of Ridgway, R. L. Stahlman and family of Kittanning, Pa., Miss Gladys Field, of Olean, N. Y., Mr. Andrew Broadhead of Ramseytown. Interment was made in the Temple Cemetery.

You today and I tomorrow
Came a voice so sweet and low,
Our hearts were bowed with sorrow
While we helpless watched her go.

Lizzy thou art gone and left us,
To come all the way alone,
But some glad sweet day when Jesus comes,
"We shall know as we are known".

We are going home with Jesus
To the mansions bright and fair.
Where there'll be no death or, sickness
And there'll be no vacant chair..

Again we'll walk the paths together
And the love that we have known
Will rise to world immortal
Around the Great white throne.

When Jesus comes to claim us,
We will all his joy share
In the new earth bright and glorious
We'll forget we had a care.
