An elderly woman was beaten, gagged and robbed of more than $1,000 at her home in Tuppers Creek. Mabel Boggess, 76, was in her home about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept., 6, 1992 when she was accosted by an intruder, who slapped her several times, tied her up and gagged her, said a Kanawha County Sheriff's Department spokesman.
