Son of Tully Armstrong and RL Lee Armstrong.
He was a member of Pelham First Baptist Church.
He retired as a US Navy Fire Technician Chief and proudly served during World War II on the USS Hornet CV-8. He also retired from Research Solutions of Pelham.
He lived out his last days with his wife at Oak Tree Manor in Amory MS.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen J. Armstrong; children: Karen (Bill) Martin, Inga Ezekiel, Neil (Lesa) Armstrong; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
His service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2018 at Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Ben Armstrong, Trey Martin, Adam Martin, Lance Driskell, Ernest Garver and John Franklin will serve as pallbearers.
