Mrs. Ada M. Bender, 82, of 625 School Ave., died Thursday at 4:20 p.m. at Mercy Hospital. She had been a patient there three days.

She was born in Hastings, Minn., on April 27, 1882, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bacon and was married in 1915 to Eugene M. Bender, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bender obtained her nursing degree at Children's Hospital, New York City, and nursed in this country and Canada before coming to Oshkosh in 1915. She was the former housekeeper at the Athearn Hotel.

She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, St. Agnes Guild of the church. Oshkosh Horticulture Society, Golden Age Club, former member of the Business Women's Club and in years past had done considerable work at Elizabeth Batchelder Davis Children's Home.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Arthur F. Miller. Oshkosh: one brother, John Bacon, Yakima. Wash.: four grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Seefeld Funeral Home, with the Very Rev. William J. Spicer, rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7-9 o'clock.
