Gordon G. Bigelow Jr., 43, of Jonesville, passed away Monday, February 19, 2018, at Hillsdale Hospital. Gordie was the most kind-hearted and hardworking man you could meet. He loved his children and devoted his life to providing for them. He will be forever remembered for his witty hunting and fishing stories and for the love he expressed to his family. Gordie was a 1992 graduate of Jonesville High School and later attended JCC to obtain a degree in corrections. He was employed at Tenneco in Litchfield the past 8 years. Gordie was an avid hunter and fisherman, having been taught the sports at a very young age. Over the years he spent thousands of hours sitting in the woods or on the lake with his dad looking for that big buck or trying to catch that massive bass. Gordie then passed his love for the outdoors to his sons, whom he loved to spend time with. When he wasn't in the woods, he enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. Gordie was also known to be quite the artist, as he loved to draw. He was so proud to know that this talent was also shared with one of his sons. Gordie has been reunited with his beloved mother, Barbara. Funeral services for Gordon Bigelow; Jr. will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the Van Horn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Private family interment will take place at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to an educational fund for his children.
