Barbara Jean Godsell of Champaign passed away at 5:45 a.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana.

Mrs. Godsell was born on Nov. 1, 1933, in Bloomington. She was the daughter of Carl A. and Agnes Hursey Harvey.

She married Joseph C. Bushell of Elkhart on July 3, 1954. He preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1969.

She married Bernard R. Eisenmenger of Pesotum on Dec. 11, 1971. He preceded her in death on May 11, 1997.

She married Joseph R. Godsell of Philo on March 1, 2003. He survives of Champaign.

Also surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (Janell) Bushell of Villa Grove and Philip Bushell of Champaign; nine stepchildren, John Godsell of Villa Grove, Rich (Burnsie) Eisenmenger of Pesotum, Helen (Bruce) Purcell of Champaign, Bob Eisenmenger of Pesotum, John (Marian) Eisenmenger of Tolono, Mary (Terry) Zahnd of Fisher, Jeannine Eisenmenger of Champaign, Bernard (Paula) Eisenmenger of Pesotum, and Charles (Lori) Eisenmenger of Longview; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Dale Harvey of Mason City, C.A. (Jay) Harvey of Dallas and Terry Harvey of Crystal Lake; two sisters, Joan Burns of Springfield and Carol (John) Schwander of Girard; and 18 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant son and one sister.

Mrs. Godsell graduated from Mount Pulaski Township High School in 1951 and held various secretarial jobs, the last of which was secretary for St. Joseph and St. Mary's Churches, Pesotum, from 1980 to 1992. In 1966, she was a pioneer in home kidney dialysis, being the first to take the machine, a converted Maytag washer, outside of Cleveland Clinic. She performed home dialysis for three years at her home in Urbana for her first husband.

She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church, Champaign.
